on healthcare-associated infection (HAI) prevention has also led to increased attention from the legal

community. This session will help the ICP navigate the risk management issues associated with HAIs.

 

Objectives:

• Discuss HAIs in light of today’s legal climate and proactive means to decrease their risk

• Review recent lawsuits related to infection control and HAIs

• Describe model programs for disclosure of HAIs to patients
